Julia Niederman, Creative Director

Julia Niederman is The Berndt Group's Creative Director, overseeing the company's five-person design and production department.

Joining The Berndt Group in 1998, Julia has Julia has designed and/or art directed many high profile web sites, multimedia and print projects for clients including The National Endowment for the Humanities, SafeNet, Inc., The National Aquarium, The Maryland Science Center, GE Global eXchange Services, The American Trauma Society, Johns Hopkins Medicine, The Creative Alliance, Maryland Art Place, Mercy Health Services, United States Forest Service, MMA Financial, Pitney Bowes/MapInfo, The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), Chemical Heritage Foundation, the Association for Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and many others. Julia has designed for sites implemented in content management systems including RedDot, CrownPeak, Ektron, Sitecore, Drupal and Umbraco, among others.

Her designs consistently win national awards, typically five or more each year, including nationally recognized Webby award winning design for the National Aquarium web site and the Maryland Science Center site. The Science Center and Maryland Art Place sites also won Addys. Julia holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration from the Washington University School of Fine Arts.

Prior to joining The Berndt Group, she was a graphic designer for a firm in Italy specializing in marketing and brand development for international sportswear companies such as K2, Berghaus, Mammut and Moonstone. Julia also worked as a freelance illustrator with clients in Baltimore, Philadelphia and Chicago, including the Jewish Times and Philadelphia Inquirer.
