2008 is a Banner Year for Berndt Group "Best-of-Breed" Web Site Launches
Launches Include New Sites for Provident Bank, Arts Every Day
December 9, 2008
BALTIMORE, MD—In 2008, The Berndt Group, a Baltimore, MD-based full service interactive agency, continued our tradition of working on high profile and complex projects in a variety of industries, including higher education, nonprofit, banking, Internet security, health care, engineering and technology.
The Berndt Group's focus is on expert, holistic web development. Specific areas of strength and focus:
- Web site Strategy
- User Experience
- Content Management System (CMS) Selection
- CMS Best Practices and Implementation
- Internet Marketing
- Web site Governance
We set a high standard for thorough, alert development practices. Our focus is on finding the most grounded, effective and inspired solutions to problems of web content and brand delivery.
Putting our process to work, The Berndt Group partnered with Provident Bank to launch a new corporate web site in September. The Berndt Group was selected by Provident because of its expertise in best practices for user experience and content management systems. The company developed a comprehensive web strategy for Provident and implemented a "best-of-breed" web site.
Overall goals for the new site included an improved user-experience for Provident customers and prospects, delivering a clear and contemporary brand impression and value promise for Provident Bank and growing and building customer relationships across all business lines and providing customers with the level of services expected and needed to retain relationships. The new site achieves all of these initial objectives. The new site runs on the Crown Peak CMS. In addition to providing ease of use for Provident's customers, the site also enables Provident staff to easily maintain the site, and keep content fresh for Provident's customers.
Another launch we are very proud of is the Arts Every Day web site. The Berndt Group partnered with Arts Every Day to build a site in conjunction with a new program that connects Baltimore students with arts. The new program and web site allows Baltimore City teachers to identify artists and cultural organizations that can supplement classroom education and provide cultural experiences. The Berndt Group worked with the organization from soup to nuts, developing the organization's branding, and guiding the client through a comprehensive web site strategy planning phase; we also focused on user experience, and the end result is a best practice, sustainable CMS implementation.
Overall goals for the The Arts Every Day web site included creating a comprehensive resource for parents seeking regional arts and cultural activities for their children; the organization’s database contains hundreds of events and programs from dozens of institutions. The web site also enables educators to access a comprehensive database of arts-related activities, cultural organizations, programs, and artists that provide arts and cultural education and experiences for young people. Additionally, classroom teachers and school administrators can also find easy-to-follow guides for how to integrate arts activities in the classroom. The site runs on the Ektron CMS.
Additional noteworthy launches in '08 include:
- New web sites for Map Info Pitney Bowes
- A new, content managed web site for Treatment Action Group (TAG), an independent AIDS research and policy think tank fighting for better treatment, a vaccine, and a cure for AIDS
- A redesigned site for the University of Maryland School of Law, with a focus on organizing large volumes of content and creating a user-friendly information architecture
- A redesigned, content managed site for Johns Hopkins Children's Center, the pediatric hospital at Johns Hopkins, dedicated to the best care available in modern pediatric medicine
- Our work for the Mount Saint Agnes Theological Center for Women provided a refreshed brand for the organization, and enabled the Center to better provide information to and interactivity with its community
John Berndt, CEO, commented, "This year, we were able to work on a number of interesting projects and provide a lot of real value to our clients - something we take very seriously. With each project, we strive to bring a level of maturity and intelligence to our clients' real business problems - we listen carefully to our clients, and then provide them with thoughtfully conceived and targeted solutions, guiding them through a structured and nuanced web design and development process. We tend to build long-lasting relationships with our clients, given our intense focus on customer service and providing real and lasting solutions. We view our clients as partners and we enjoy working with our partners such as Provident, Arts Every Day, and others, to achieve "best of breed" web sites."
Looking forward to the new year, John Berndt added, "at
the end of the day, the chance to solve real-world problems
in a lasting way for our clients is what drives us - and makes
our work more enjoyable. We look forward to what '09 brings."
