Berndt Group Begins 2009 by Launching New Sites for RWD Technologies, The Council on Quality and Leadership
Sites Built in the Ektron 400 CMS
March 20, 2009
BALTIMORE, MD—The Berndt Group, a Baltimore, MD-based full service interactive agency, kicked off 2009 with site launches for RWD Technologies and The Council on Quality and Leadership. The content management solution for these sites is the Ektron 400 Content Management System.
The Berndt Group worked with RWD Technologies to create a content-managed web site that showcases the company's consulting services. RWD Technologies is a leading provider of human and operational performance improvement solutions that help employers maximize the return on their investments in people, processes, technology, knowledge, and customers.
Overall, a streamlined, professional design brings RWD up to current Web standards. To leverage RWD's enterprise-level client base, we featured client case studies on the homepage and throughout the site. The homepage features a Flash movie highlighting RWD's brand and incorporates RWD's "circle" motif.
We implemented the site in the Ektron 400 CMS. The site uses metadata taxonomy to automate links between pages and allows more controlled content relationships via manual linking for certain content types. A content-managed Flash feature allows RWD to insert product demos into Case Studies and other page types. International Office Locations pages feature content-managed Google Maps, using the Google Maps API. Additional features/highlights include: the calendar, keyword taxonomy, URL aliasing, related documents, related links, related case studies, and custom campaign creation.
The Berndt Group also designed and developed a new web site for The Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL), implementing the site in the Ektron 400 CMS. CQL is a nonprofit that provides thought leadership in the area of quality of life for intellectually disabled individuals.
CQL provides standards, accreditation, and discussion for other organizations that service these individuals, policy makers, and serves as an advocacy tool for families of the individuals. Through groundbreaking research and publications; trainings, workshops and conferences; accreditation and certification programs - CQL continues to shape the future of disabilities services. The new web site needed to reflect the mission and goals of the organization.
In addition to clearly conveying the organization's mission, the new web site provides greatly increased usability, creating an invaluable resource for CQL's community and constituents. CQL can now reach out to its community by featuring related content throughout the site. CQL is one of the few organizations that offers training, certification and accreditation resources through its web site; the new site serves as a valuable tool for the international community.
The new site presents the organization as a leading consultant
and resource for organizations with similar goals and standards.
CQL's Ektron CMS integration allows them to integrate current
content throughout the site, keeping the organization's community
up-to-date on pertinent certification and accreditation information,
allowing constant communication with the CQL community. Additional
functionality includes the CQL Store; this section of the site
is integrated with StoreFront, an eCommerce third party system.
Other sites recently developed by The Berndt Group in Ektron:
- Treatment Action Group
- Johns Hopkins Childrens Center
- Mount Saint Agnes Theological Center for Women
We are also in the process of developing new sites in Ektron
for the Association
of Zoos and Aquariums, Shelter
Development, Brightview
Senior Living and SafeNet.
John Berndt, CEO, commented, "These specific sites have
been a great introduction to the work we've been doing in the
Ektron CMS, providing a high-quality, low-cost, feature rich
approach to content management for our clients."
